Pixels
Pixels opens up with an establishing shot of a low angle on a person placing a box-television with garbage on the side of the street. The TV then explodes and cartoons begin to become reality in the real world. Famous characters such as Pac-Man and Frogger are included in the short film. These cartoons are causing mayhem and destruction in the world. The short film uses great cinematography and camera work along with its special effects. It uses a lot of low angles and high angles as well as using wide shots and close ups. All of the film's cinematography helps creates its message of how technology, specifically video games, have destructed today's society. It's argument is how our society has developed into a technology heavy society with video games hurting our progress.

Thor Dutch Angles
The author of the article makes it seem like the dutch angles in Thor are very distracting and take away from the story. I agree with his point thoroughly. The purpose of dutch angles, as it says in the article, is "to cause a sense of unease or disorientation for the viewer", and in a lot of the scenes shown in the video, the dutch angles are used properly. An example of this is this frame:
In this still it is appropriate to use a dutch angle because you want the audience to feel a sense of "unease" and "disorientation". The Destroyer, the machine attacking Thor and friends, is threatening the protagonist of the film and the director wants the audience to feel disorientated and uneased.
An example of a poor use of a dutch angle in this film would be:
This still is a poor choice of using a dutch angle because it is acting like an establishing shot. The audience shouldnt have to feel uneased or disorientated when being shown the setting or place.
I agree with the author of the article because the amount of shots with dutch angles can be very distracting once noticed. I never noticed this about Thor but once you notice it is very distracting.
